Xingjian Wang

Assistant Professor Of Chemistry And Coordinator Of General Science Program And Chemical Lab Safety

Year Started at Coker: 2023

Education Background:

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, University of Alabama in Huntsville
  • M.S. in Physics, University of Alabama in Huntsville
  • M.S. in Materials Science, University of Alabama in Huntsville
  • B.S. in Physics, Shenzhen University

Research Background: Research interests lie at the intersection of chemistry and physics, particularly in studying phase changes in materials. Current research focuses on modeling phase transition processes in liquid mixtures. Interested in exploring phase changes in cell biology and kinesiology. Because experiments are the final arbiter of the success of theory, would also like to work closely with students interested in experiments.

Favorite Thing about being a Cobra: I am always impressed by the Coker students’ enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. I truly enjoy the close relationships I build with them, which makes the teaching experience incredibly rewarding.
